Bruce and Debbie - Atlanta, Georgia

Dear Birthparents,

Hello! We are Bruce and Debbie (and Josh). We want you to know that we have a great deal of admiration for you because of your courageous and sacrificial decision. Choosing to give your baby life and considering placing him or her for adoption takes a great deal of maturity and strength. May God bless you as you go through this challenging period in your life. Thank you for taking the time to look over our profile. Be sure to watch our video if you would like to see a little more of our life.

About Bruce - by Debbie
The thing that attracted me to Bruce when I first met him was his fun-loving, outgoing personality. His enthusiastic, positive outlook on life makes him a great visionary and leader. He has high ambitions for his life, as well as for others. I think this is why he is such a natural encourager and motivator of others. He also loves children and is a wonderful father to Joshua. They love to play together, and Bruce often makes Saturday “Josh and Daddy day”, when they will go off and do something fun together. A local water park, a robotics convention, and a children’s jump and play center with big, inflatable slides are a few of the places they like to go.

About Debbie - by Bruce
From the first time I met Debbie, I have always loved her calm, friendly personality. The more I got to know her I found that she had a deep love for God and a desire to be a shining example for her family and friends. While we were dating, we talked often about our hopes and dreams for a family. I knew that she would be a terrific wife and a fantastic mother someday. My hopes came true with our son, Joshua. Debbie loves being a stay-at-home mom, and she and Josh love to read together, play outside, and do crafts. She continually finds new ways to allow Josh to grow and explore the world. I am truly blessed to be her husband, and the father of our forever family.

About our family and our faith
We met at a bible study and dated for about a year before we decided to get married. We both grew up in loving Christian families, and we have always wanted to raise a family, and pass this precious heritage on to our children. When we first married, we expected those children would be born to us fairly soon. But we soon found that having biological children would not come easily for us. After 5 years of infertility tests and treatments, we sensed the Lord closing that door as He began to show us the joy of building our family through adoption. We applied with Bethany in 2003, and our hopes and prayers were answered when Joshua was placed in our home in 2004. He has brought much joy and satisfaction into our life, but we do not feel that our family is complete. So we are again waiting and praying to be blessed with another child through the wonderful gift of adoption.

Joshua is a very active, enthusiastic and outgoing 5-year old who has just entered kindergarten. He loves playing with other children and can’t wait to have a new baby brother or sister. He is already picking out some of his toys and books that he wants to give to the baby. Josh is always on the go and loves gymnastics, soccer, and swimming. He is learning to read and is also interested in music and musical instruments. His favorite toys right now are Transformers and Hot Wheels.

Both of our families are very excited about our plans to adopt again. Bruce’s parents live on a farm near Kansas City, Missouri, and Josh’s aunts, uncles and cousins live nearby. Debbie grew up in a close-knit family in the suburbs of St. Louis. Her side of the family is more spread out, but we love to vacation together and have family reunions with them often. So far, Josh is the only grandchild on that side of the family, and Debbie’s parents come to visit us (really – they come to see Josh ) twice a year. We also travel back home to see them in the summer, and try to spend at least one week on the farm so Josh can play with his cousins and experience farm living!

We are involved in a small, local church, and attend Bible studies and small groups there. We both read a lot, and try to learn and travel as much as we can. We have had the wonderful opportunity to make several trips overseas. We hope to take our children overseas when they are old enough because we want to teach them as much as we can about the world, and hope they will develop merciful hearts for those in need.

We live in a family friendly neighborhood and share our 4-bedroom home with a cuddly cat named Casey. We have a large back yard with lots of room to play, and our neighborhood has a pool and
playground that is very active during the summer. There is also a park and community center close by that offers lots of activities. Bruce works for a large company in the computer software industry and Debbie enjoys being a stay-at-home mom.

We hope this letter has given you some insight into our home and the family setting we can provide. If you choose to place your precious baby into our home, please know that we will always tell him or her about you, your love, and the courageous choice you made. We send Joshua’s birthparents regular updates with letters, photos, and occasional DVDs of family videos. We would be very happy to stay in touch with you through the years, if that is something you desire.

With love and prayers for you and your baby,
Bruce and Debbie
