 Bethany is committed to finding loving, stable homes for children in need of homes including children of unplanned pregnancies and from orphanages around the world. Thousands of people who have adopted children through Bethany nationwide have found that adoption is a positive way to build a family.
Our domestic program involves primarily the placement of newborns and infants under one year of age because of the work we do in the field of pregnancy counseling. In addition to placing healthy infants, we also seek to find placement for infants with special needs as well as older children and sibling groups.
Bethany of Hampton Roads has three domestic adoption tracks: In the first track, infants and children are entrusted to Bethany by birthparents for adoption purposes and Bethany needs committed Christian families with whom to place these children. These adoptions may be open, semi-open, or confidential.
In the second track, infants and children become available for adoption as a result of adoptive families networking in the community to locate birthparents wanting to make an adoption plan. These adoptions involve the full exchange of identifying information between the adoptive parents and birthparents and are called parental placement adoption. There is no Christian requirement with this track.
