 On behalf of the staff in Grand Rapids, Michigan, we welcome you to Bethany Christian Services. Looking back over our history, there is so much for which to be thankful -- including the vision of our founders, Mary De Boer, Marguerite Bonnema, and Andrew VanDerVeer, who out of love for children in need, established Bethany in Grand Rapids in 1944. From our modest beginnings, Bethany has become one of the largest private social services agencies in the United States with ministries in more than 75 locations in 31 states. We have an international presence in 15 other countries and a worldwide staff exceeding 900.
