Ready for Some Good Tax News?
Are you are 70½ or older–or will you be soon?
If you answered “Yes,” then you may be able to take advantage of a law that allows you to make a charitable gift directly from your traditional or Roth IRA account.
In order to qualify:
· You must be age 70½ or older when you make your gift.
· The transfer must be made directly from your traditional or Roth IRA by your plan provider to Bethany Christian Services.
· Gifts must be outright. That is, gifts to life-income arrangements—like gift annuities—are not allowed.
What are the benefits to you?
· You can give up to $100,000.
· Your gift can be excluded from your gross income for federal income tax purposes on line 15a of Form 1040. PLEASE NOTE: No charitable deduction is available for your IRA gift.
· Your IRA gift can be used to satisfy your Minimum Required Distribution (MRD).
Does this sound like an opportunity for you? Need more information or assistance?
