Process Overview (PDF)

Family Assessment or Home Study
Bethany's pre-adoptive assessments are widely recognized throughout the country. This assessment helps the counselor understand each individual family and provides the family with education about parenting an adopted child. The assessment process consists of two applications, a preliminary and formal, paperwork, a minimum of three interviews, and an education component. Completing the preliminary application is the first step. Your social worker can help guide you through this process as well as provide guidance with immigration and the foreign country’s requirements. The process of adopting internationally is reviewed in detail at our information meetings.

We would be delighted to work with you as you build your family through adoption of a child from another country. Please fill out our contact form today or call the Central Pennsylvania office - 1.800.472.6898 or 717.399.3213 for more information.
