Independent Services
DOMESTIC
Domestic Independent / Identified Services can be provided to married couples who only need a home study assessment completed and are already working with an attorney or another agency for an adoption. This may also be an option for couples who are not eligible for Bethany’s full Domestic Infant Adoption Program. The home study includes completion of formal application materials as well as interviews and a home visit.
GETTING STARTED
To get started, contact us to request an information packet that contains a fee schedule. You will be asked to sign a contract for services. If approved, we will mail you the documents required for the home study.
IMPORTANT: If you already have an agency in mind that you would like to work with for adoption, but want to use Bethany as your home study agency, please check with the other agency first to verify that they accept outside home studies before applying to Bethany.
INTERNATIONAL
International Independent Services may be provided to applicants who need a home study assessment completed and are working with an agency other than Bethany for the placement of a child born overseas in their home for adoption. This may also be an option for applicants who are not eligible for Bethany’s full International Adoption Program. Bethany can work with applicants pursuing international adoption from a variety of countries, not just those in which Bethany has its own full international program.

To get started complete the preliminary international application online and note in your application that you interested in independent services. Please note the country you are planning to work with for intercountry adoption.
OTHER INTERNATIONAL INDEPENDENT SERVICES
Bethany can also provide post-placement supervision when families return from overseas with their child.
