Assessment (required for all families in order to receive the other services)
A trained Bethany social worker visits your family in your home to complete assessment tools and work with you to develop a specific plan to address the presenting issues.

Case Advocacy/Management Support
A post-adoption caseworker provides support to your family on a monthly basis. This service may include monthly home visits, assistance linking your family to other support services as needed and providing your family with additional literature specific to your interests and needs.

Respite
Planned periods of paid respite gives you as parents a much-needed break so you can maintain a consistent level of parenting. This service is available for a maximum of 48 hours per month if your child is cared for overnight in another home, or up to 16 hours a month if your child is cared for in your family’s home. Respite can be provided by a family or individual that Bethany identifies or by a resource that you identify, if they are willing to complete a training and approval process.

Support Group
Bethany facilitates a monthly support group for adoptive families. This is a great way for families to connect with other adoptive families who may be experiencing challenges similar to their own. It is also a way to obtain more knowledge and education about specific issues related to adoption and raising children.
Eligibility
Any adoptive family, who resides in the state of Pennsylvania and has adopted children, 17 years old or younger, is eligible.
