Martin and Autumn - Crofton, Maryland

A Letter from the Heart of Martin and Autumn

Dear Birthmother:
Thank you for reading our letter. We are Martin and Autumn from Maryland. We have always wanted to adopt and now we feel like it’s the perfect time. It has always been our desire to have children since we have been married.

About us:
It was love at second sight-eleven years after the first time we met. A couple of months before our second meeting, we had just lost our greatest treasures: our mothers. We know that our mothers conspired in heaven and arranged for us to fall in love. We got married the following October and have been happily married for eight years.

My Husband:
My husband is a very spiritual, warm-hearted and compassionate man. He has very strong values and cherished principles that I truly admire and respect. But what I love the most about him is his good heart. He sincerely cares about people and is passionate about what he believes is just and right.

Martin is a very organized planner. I always feel safe and secure because I know he has paid careful attention to details. Martin is very athletic. He has won three gold metals at our neighborhood 5K race. He also enjoys playing golf and tennis. Martin loves creative writing and is currently working on a novel.

My Wife:
Autumn is a sweet, soft-spoken lady. She is caring, warm, and gentle. She plays the violin, and piano, and takes ballet classes. Autumn enjoys gardening and rejoices when her tulips and daffodils blossom in the spring. She is a big kid at heart and likes to dress up on Halloween to give treats to neighborhood kids.

It is not unusual for my wife to burst out singing Broadway musicals and make up dances during the course of the day. Since I married her, my life has been full of laughter, music and joy. I am so blessed to be married to a woman with all of her unusual and lovable qualities.

Travel:
We love to travel. So far in our marriage, we have traveled to London, Paris, Rome, Florence, Bermuda, Jamaica, Seattle, and San Diego. Our future trips include Hong Kong, Africa, and Costa Rica. We look forward to opening the windows of the world to our child and exposing her to great art, literature, and music.

Our Home:
We live in a two-story colonial house that sits on a hill. We have a rose garden, an English garden, and a Japanese maple tree that turns crimson red in the fall. Our back yard is fenced in and would make a nice play area for a child. Our home has three bedrooms, four baths, a basement, a wood-burning fire place, and a screened-in porch. Our home is very close to a neighborhood park with brooks, streams, and playground equipment. Deer play in the park and it is not unusual for several deer to watch people walk down the tree-lined paths. We are not far from a botanical garden and a recreation center with several swimming pools.

Extended family:
Our new baby will have a great aunt, four uncles, three aunts, eight cousins, and a multitude of other relatives. Their various interests include chess, martial arts, arts and crafts, painting, computer graphics, photography, ice skating and sewing.

A piazzo in Rome
We enjoy geting together with relatives during the holidays. My sister and sister-in-law bring dishes and my neices and nephews love spending the time eating. My husband, brother, and brother-in law enjoy watching football and playing games. Holidays are very special at our home. The Japanese Maple tree in our front yard turns a beautiful shade of red in the fall. Our living room had a lot of antiques that my husband and I inherited from our parents and grandparents. We gather here to sing Christmas carols during the holidays.

Our Promise:
Thank you for taking the time to learn about us and for considering us as adoptive parents. We are very excited about welcoming a child into our home. We have an abundance of love to give and so many opportunities to offer your baby. We promise to cherish your child and to be the very best parents we can be.
