Pregnant? Bethany Christian Services can help. Listen Here

You are facing one of the most important decisions of your life and you don’t have to face it alone. So many women have faced the same dilemma. An unexpected pregnancy may be a frightening experience. What do I do now that I am pregnant? At Bethany, you know you’re getting the experience needed to help you walk this journey making a decision for you and your baby. At this crucial time you need someone you can trust. Bethany Christian Services has been providing counseling services to women and men facing unplanned pregnancies since 1965. More than 57,000 individuals have sought Bethany’s help.

What services are offered?
You can get free one-on-one counseling at the place of your choice— at your home, in the community, or at the Bethany office. You can get any questions answered, including legal questions, father’s rights, etc. You will get emotional support and someone to walk beside you during this journey. You can get financial assistance for needs you may have including prenatal care, rent, transportation, food, or newborn supplies if you choose to parent.

What are my options?
If you decide to create an adoption plan for your child, you may have many choices available to you. It is your choice to select an adoptive family for your child. It is your choice as to how open the adoption will be. You can choose an open, semi-open, or closed adoption. You take the lead in the decisions for this adoption plan.

What are my rights?
You have the right to make choices in your adoption planning. In the State of Missouri you can sign your consents to terminate your parental rights for reason of adoption at 48 hours after the baby is born. You can choose whether to appear in court and if you want an attorney to represent you.

Does the father have rights?
If the birthfather has not already been informed of your pregnancy and adoption plan, we will attempt to contact him. If the birthfather chooses to be involved with you in an adoption plan for your baby, our staff is available to both of you. He is able to sign consents at 48 hours as well. If the birthfather has any questions about his rights or about making an adoption plan he can contact our staff to talk.

If you would like to meet with us you can call 1.800.754.0909 during business hours or 1-800-Bethany anytime of day. We would be happy to meet with you at anytime. You can contact us now or you may email us at bcsstlouis@bethany.org. We are here to help you in anyway.
