On June 21, 2008, Bethany's Grand Rapids campus was transformed into a multicultural playground hosting over 1,100 people from Michigan and neighboring states whose lives have been touched by adoption.

The Multicultural Adoption Festival provides an opportunity for parents and children to unite and celebrate adoption. This event also raises awareness in the community for children who need a family. We gather in fellowship and celebration and encourage children to take pride in being embraced through adoption.

Emcee Greg Yoder, Mission Network News, led us through a fun-filled day featuring great cultural entertainment for the entire family through arts, music, and dance. Younger children enjoyed the Critter Barn's Petting Zoo, face painting, art contest, plus a variety of carnival games. Older children enjoyed rock climbing, a dunk tank, and a bungee run. Families sampled foods from around the world and enjoyed wonderful entertainment from a variety of cultures including a special appearance by contemporary Christian artist, Geoff Moore.

Thank you to everyone who attended this great day of celebration and all of those who volunteered in making this year's multicultural adoption festival a success!

Join us next year on June 20, 2009 and celebrate the miracle of adoption! Tell your friends to SAVE THE DATE!
