From the Director

Welcome to Bethany Christian Services. We hope that this site is a place where you are provided with some answers to questions as you look into the option of adoption. If you are pregnant and considering adoption for your child, please know that there are resources available for you to learn more about adoption. At Bethany we value an adoption decision as a life giving, loving choice. Our hope for you is for you to be confident and at peace with your decision—whether it’s parenting or placing a child for adoption. Pregnancy counseling is available for you to have support as you grapple with this decision and if you desire to learn more about adoption. If you do choose adoption, we want you to be involved in such a way that you actually choose the family that you feel is best suited for your child. There are many waiting families with Bethany Christian Services whose greatest prayer is to become parents! You have the option to meet the family and work together to establish a plan for ongoing communication through the years if that is something you desire. We respect you and your willingness to consider what’s best for your child. We hope that we will be able to serve you.

Our professional staff has been meeting the needs of birth parents, children, and families for the last twenty two years in the Memphis area. We value providing quality social services to those experiencing unplanned pregnancies and to families longing for a child. Many families have experienced the trial of infertility and yet remain steadfast in their desire to be parents. For those families adoption is an incredible avenue to pursue in their desire to grow their family. For others they might be single and ready to be a parent or even have children already yet they still long to share their home with another child. We have both Domestic Infant Adoption services for adoptive families desiring to adopt an infant here in the United States as well as Intercountry Adoption services for families who long to provide a home for an orphan overseas. Currently there are millions of children overseas who are in dire need of parents and the love and stability that they offer. Lastly, Bethany Christian Services works to advocate for older children in Foster Care through the FOCUS program. This program seeks to recruit adoptive families as well as remove barriers preventing older children and teens from joining an adoptive family.

I hope that this gives you a glimpse of Bethany Christian Services and the work that we do in Memphis and the surrounding areas. We believe strongly that adoption is close to God’s heart. Please let us know how we can serve you.

Blessings,
