Bethany Involved with Embryo Adoptions
More than 400,000 embryos are currently living in cryopreservation state in medical labs across the United States. For couples unable to parent their embryos, a difficult decision must be made. The option of adoption is positive, life-affirming, and provides the only opportunity for the miracle of birth and the joy of life that follows.
In expansion of its life-affirming mission and service, Bethany Christian Services is working with the National Embryo Donation Center in facilitating donation and adoption of these embryos. Bethany has received a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to promote embryo adoptions.
Bethany serves orphans and vulnerable children on five continents. Bethany has partnered with governments to provide training for social workers in countries such as Albania and Romania. Our programs have made a difference in Russia for children in orphanages to transfer to independent living. Group homes help children prepare for adoption, either by families in their homeland or families from abroad.
