Domestic Adoption Programs
There are three programs within the Domestic Adoption Program:
Domestic Infant Adoption Program
Adoption through the Domestic Infant Program requires that couples be married, Christian, experiencing infertility, and have no more than one child in the home. There may be a waiting list for entry into the Domestic Infant Program. However, the requirements of infertility and number of children in the home are waived and there is no waiting list for families open to a child of any race or ethnicity or for a child with pre-identified special needs. Bethany Christian Services will network with other offices for available children based on the desire of the family to do so. Adoptive parents must be at least 21 years of age for the Domestic Infant Program.
Other Options for Domestic Adoption
In addition to Bethany Christian Services’ own domestic adoption programs, our Minnesota offices are also able to provide home study (adoptive family assessment) and post-placement supervision services to families who have found an out-of-state agency that places children from states that are not part of Bethany Christian Services’ programs.
We know that healthy, successful adoptive families are possible when the adoption process is handled professionally, parents are fully informed, social workers are experienced and available, and families are supported personally and professionally. Therefore, we establish staffing and educational support with that in mind.
