Dear Birthmother
Alan and I are so thankful that you are reading our profile. I know this is a very difficult and stressful time for you, and I pray that God will lead you and give you peace in the decisions that lie ahead.
 Alan and Lisa
Alan and I have been happily married for 16 years. We live in a cozy log home in the country, just close enough to the city for convenience. The community is very friendly, and safe for children to play and explore the outdoors. Alan teaches band, and I teach choir and guitar. I could say we chose the career of teaching music, but I actually believe God led us where we are today. We are so blessed to be able to share our musical talents and be a part of our students’ lifetime memories. Teaching is a wonderful career for people who plan to parent because it allows time to be with family. Whenever the children are out for summer vacation, holidays and snow days, so are we. Alan and I love to travel. We are always up for new adventures, whether visiting amusement parks, riding roller coasters, hiking, or just driving and exploring. We have traveled through many states across the country, but our favorite place to vacation is Hawaii. We want to live life to the fullest and enjoy it as much as possible.

 Alan is a wonderful guy. In a way, he has been a savior for me. Alan and I met 3 years after my first husband lost his life in a car accident. He was so tender and understanding that I just fell in love with him. Alan is very intelligent, but he doesn’t’ flaunt it. He loves to read and do research on the internet, so he has knowledge of a vast variety of things. He loves American history and is very patriotic. Alan is a major “movie buff.” Sometimes, I think he has seen every movie ever made - - at least twice. He’s really good at games like “Scene It.” I always try to be on his team. Alan is also a huge Tennessee Titans Fan. He is dedicated to them whether they win or lose, and that is how he lives his life, dedicated and supportive no matter what.

Lisa is a very kind and loving person. As a wife, she is extremely supportive and dedicated to our family. She is always in a good mood and never afraid to try something new. Lisa loves to play games, enjoys being with other people and is always outgoing and full of energy. She likes music of all kinds and loves to sing. She is also an artist and paints wonderfully. Lisa is very good at her job as a music teacher and worship team leader. She is a strong influence in the lives of her students and is trusted as a friend and confidant. Lisa has always wanted children and I know she will be a terrific mom. She is my best friend as well as my wife.
Why Adoption?
Alan and I knew we wanted to have children when we married, but wanted to wait a few years to give our love for each other time to grow. After four years of marriage, we decided to start a family. A year turned into two, and two into three, and so on. We went through infertility treatment, conceived twice, but miscarried in the first trimester both times. Alan has a niece who is adopted, so we talked about adoption early on, but wanted to first seek God’s will in our lives. We both prayed and waited for an answer. Three years ago, God gave us peace and opened the door for adoption.
 Extended Family
Alan and I are from very similar backgrounds. Our parents are about the same age, and we were taught the same morals and family values. Alan is from a small family with only two brothers. They have a tradition of getting together on each person’s birthday and most holidays. My family is rather large with four brothers and two sisters. Many of us gather at my Dad’s every other Sunday. The extended family with grandchildren and great-grandchildren equals about 50 people, so we only get together as a whole two times a year. We have new children born into the family just about every year. Both of our families are wonderful and they are anxiously awaiting our precious new arrival.
