The Gift of Adoption Fund ( formerly JSW Foundation) is a private, non-profit foundation funded by donations and fundraising events. JSW was established to assist protential adoptive parents by providing cash grants to subsidize a portion of the costs of adoption.
Grants are awarded monthly. Applications must be received by the last day of the month in order to be considered for that month. All applicants will be notified in writing within 30 days from the last day of the month in which they applied. The grant amounts are awarded for $2,000 or more.
Any parent(s) wishing to adopt a child can apply for a Gift of Adoption Fund grant.

Grants are reviewed and awarded based on the following criteria:
Agency Approval
Applicants must be qualified to adopt a child in the state of which they reside. This approval must be documented by the agency they are working with. Grant vouchers may be awarded to the applicant contingent on approval.
Financial Need
Only applicants who demonstrate financial need will be considered. For information about low-interest adoption loans, go to

Childless Applicants
Although applicants who have children will not automatically be excluded, those who have no children will be given preference.
Hardship
Preference will be given to applicants who are experiencing extraordinary hardship.
