The numbers are staggering–well over 100,000 children in the United States are waiting for forever families, and more than 143 million orphans worldwide long to know the love of a family. Bethany works in a number of states and countries around the globe to find families for children who need a place to call home.

Who are the children waiting for families?
Children waiting for families in the United States are often older, from ethnic or racial minorities, or are waiting as part of a sibling group. They have almost always been removed from their families because of abuse or neglect and cannot return to those families. Children waiting in other countries may also be older and have challenges because of a history of poverty and deprivation. Many are orphaned and have lived in orphanages or in foster homes.
