Welcome to Bethany of Holland's International Adoption site! We appreciate your time and consideration as you learn more about International Adoption and consider opening your hearts and home as a forever family to one of the 143 million orphans around the world!

Meet the team:

We are excited to introduce the Holland Branch International Blog. This blog will be updated at least monthly and will contain information specific to international adoption and resources in the Holland area. We hope you enjoy!



Since 1982, Bethany has found permanent families in the U.S for more than 10,000 children growing up in orphanages in Europe, Asia and Latin America. Our experienced staff is ready to guide adoptive parents through the steps required to adopt children from around the world. Our office also provides home assessment and post placement services on a contract basis for families who are working with another agency or using other resources for the placement of a child.

Adoption is Affordable
With the Federal and State Adoption Tax Credits, Bethany's adoption loan program, and various grant opportunities; we find that many families are discovering that
adoption is very affordable. Your caseworker will guide you in identifying and accessing various funding opportunities. Click here for a more detailed fee schedule.

Who can adopt?
Families who can provide a stable, nurturing, and secure environment for a child are welcome applicants. At least one applicant must be a US Citizen and all applicants should be over 25 years of age. Please request an information packet for detailed information to find out the specific requirements for each country. If you would like to attend an information meeting please visit our Information Meetings page for our current schedule.

Getting Started…
  • Complete the free preliminary application online (note: this will take you to the National section of Bethany's website)
  • Attend an information meeting. A completed preliminary application is not required for attendance.
  • Upon approval, your family will receive a formal application.
  • When your formal application and supporting documents are completed and processed along with the $550 fee, Bethany will open your file and begin the home study process.
  • Our staff will assist you every step of the way.

Post Adoption Services
Bethany is committed to you and your family for the life of your adoption. Not only will we help bring your child home, but we are also able to provide assistance during your child’s adjustment and help you find answers to the questions he/she may have throughout life.
