Adam and Michelle - Memphis, Tennessee
PLACEMENT!!
Dear Potential Birth Parent,
Hello! We want to thank you for opening your heart to our profile and taking time to learn about our family. We understand what a difficult decision this is for you. My sister is a birth mother and I know the love that she has for her daughter and how she wants the best for her.
Adam and I met and fell in love in 1995 while we were working and going to school in Cincinnati, Ohio. We dated for five years and were married in June of 2000 in a little chapel in Memphis, Tennessee. Two years ago, our chapel was bulldozed and replaced with a Walgreens! The day that the chapel was demolished, Adam drove by the site and was able to bring home one of the original bricks. He calls it “our love brick”!
We have always known that we wanted a house full of children. We have one daughter, Lindsey, who is 12(yrs). Lindsey has been eagerly awaiting little brothers and sisters for a very long time. We have always had a longing to adopt and knew that adoption would be one way that we would expand our family. If given the chance, we will provide your child with unconditional love, guidance, patience, and God willing, a house full of brothers and sisters.
Adam is my knight and shining armor! God truly blessed me with a devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend. By watching them together, you would never know that Adam is not Lindsey’s biological father. He has been in her life since she was five weeks old. Adam received his coaching license so he could coach Lindsey’s Soccer team. He has a very playful personality and loves to make people laugh. Adam is intelligent and highly motivated, but grounded and understands what really matters in life. He measures his success by the type of husband and father he is. He is an excellent provider, and works at a local financial institution as a portfolio manager. His work schedule is flexible, which allows him to participate in day-to-day activities and school functions. Adam is very much a hands-on dad, and gets overly-excited about the prospect of having another child in our family.
Michelle is so much more than just my wife. She is the person with whom I chose to raise a family; the person I chose to grow old with; the one I chose to laugh and cry with; the one I chose to depend upon; there is no one with whom I would rather have by my side. Michelle is my sweetheart. Michelle is the most considerate, kind-hearted person that I have ever met. She started a small business over 8 years ago. She loves her job and is able to make her own schedule, and do some work from home. Michelle works Wednesday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. which allows her to take Lindsey to school in the morning and pick her up in the afternoon. She will cut back to two days a week and her mom will baby sit here at our home once our baby is home. In addition to everyday activities with Lindsey, Michelle enjoys gardening, decorating, cooking, scrap booking, and hosting cookouts for family and friends.
Lindsey was born in 1995 and is a beautiful, fun-loving girl. Lindsey has a sweet personality and a gentle, compassionate spirit. She loves school and is an “A” student. She has a competitive spirit when it comes to sports. She played competitive soccer for the past couple of years. Lindsey also has the voice of an angel and has been in choir since she was in the second grade. Despite her competitive nature is sports, Lindsey is a girly-girl who loves music, shopping, and talking to her friends on the phone. She is full of life and is extremely excited about expanding her role as a big sister. Lindsey took it upon herself to enroll in a class this year so that she could have her CPR certification for infants and small children.
Our Home is full of love, laughter, hugs and kisses. We live in a lovely 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath- house in a quiet suburban neighborhood. Our street has over 25 children under the age of 10; including 3 newborns in 2007, with 4 families expecting, and one neighbor that is also adopting.
As a Family we attend a large community church. We enjoy sitting around the table every night for dinner. Our favorite meal is spaghetti, and our favorite desert is tiramisu! We have 3 fluffy friends: Sophie, Iris, and Mr. Wrigley; and since most of our friends have children (infant to adolescent), all 3 of our dogs are accustom to being around children. We typically take two family vacations every year. Lindsey started learning about American history this year in school, and wants to go to Colonial Williamsburg, in Virginia. We love boating, skiing, and watching sporting events. We are a young family that tries to live life to the fullest! Live, Laugh, Love.
Our Families are full of grandparents, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, and cousins who are all looking forward to a new life joining our family! Michelle’s parents live less than 2 miles away. All of her siblings and extended family live close by. Michelle’s younger brother serves our country in the Air Force. Adam’s mom and brother live in Ohio and his extended family live in Pennsylvania. We are blessed to be able to see all of them, several times a year.
Our Hope is that you were able to get a feel for us, as a family. We really admire your courage and pray for God to fill your heart with peace during this very emotional time. We will always tell your child about how he/she was adopted and hope that you will want to stay in contact with us through letters, pictures, and visits. We will honor your adoption plan. We are excited to learn more about you and your family.
Sincerely,
Adam, Michelle, and Lindsey
