Ukraine

Welcome to the Ukraine adoption program. Growing your family through intercountry adoption is an incredible journey, and we consider it a privilege to work with you. The Ukraine program staff is committed to providing you with the resources you will need.
Our staff is dedicated to the children in Ukraine and to you, the adoptive family. We hope that you adoption experience will have a powerfully positive impact on your life.
Bethany has worked with families for adoptions from Ukraine since 2000. Bethany also has social service programs for children who will not be adopted. Children available for adoption reside in government orphanages and are in care due to poverty or neglect. Most children will demonstrate typical orphanage delays. All children must complete twelve months on a federal database before being eligible for intercountry adoption.
Adoptions in Ukraine are processed through the State Department for Adoption and Protection of Rights of the Child (SDAPRC). Agencies do not officially work in Ukraine, and families are represented by facilitators. The facilitators in Kiev who track the progress of your dossier are the same staff who will assist you when you travel. No information is given regarding referrals until a family has an appointment at the SDAPRC. Adoptive applicants are asked to be as flexible as possible regarding the gender and age of the child.
If you have further questions, we encourage you to contact your nearest Bethany office for assistance.
Bethany is eager to help you realize your wish to adopt a child from Ukraine!
