Randy and Michelle - Rochester, New York

Dear Birthparent,

We can imagine that you have gone through a lot in recent times and we are pleased that you have chosen to create an adoption plan for your child. We also want to thank you for taking this time to get to know us and to consider us as parents for your child. We both have a strong desire to be loving and good parents and are anxious to be able to provide a warm, happy and healthy home for a child.

We met at the local grocery store where we both worked. We enjoyed working together and quickly became friends before Randy got enough courage to ask Michelle out. From the moment Michelle said yes we have not stopped growing as a couple and our love for each other has only gotten stronger. We were married in May 1998 after dating for two years. Our relationship is based firmly in our faith in God and has a secure foundation of love for one another, devotion to one another, and a mutual admiration.

We have always enjoyed spending time together. We often delight in going on picnics to the local state parks where we enjoy hiking, taking pictures of the scenery (and each other!) and exploring the wonders of nature. We have a lot of fun canoeing, traveling to new places, playing all kinds of games from board games to card games to backyard family games like bocce or badminton. We also enjoy the occasional theatre show, visiting area attractions such as zoos and museums and are hoping to be able to share all of these experiences as a family.

We both grew up in families filled with love and happiness and desire to be able to provide a similar home life for our children. Michelle enjoyed babysitting as a teenager, caring for infants as well as older children. She also participated in an early childhood program in high school where she had internships in daycare centers. Our friends’ children often enjoy spending time with her. When Randy was in college he taught Sunday school for many years and also volunteered for various youth group activities. He also enjoys being a kid when he plays with our friends’ children and has two nieces that he enjoys spending time with and another niece or nephew on the way.

We have always hoped to be able to have a family of our own. After being unable to conceive and after much prayer we believe God has led us down the path to adoption. We have received a lot of support from our families who are just as excited as we are to see our family grow through adoption. Michelle’s parents live five minutes away and are ready made grandparents with fresh baked cookies and homemade wooden toys! Randy’s family lives less than thirty minutes away and they are easily available for holidays, birthdays and family gatherings.

Michelle is a marvelous and fantastic wife. Michelle has been the love of my life and is my best friend. She is wonderful and pleasant and has a real love of life and will be a great mother. She enjoys reading, taking pictures, baking and cooking—she often creates new delectable delights. She also loves to swim, decorate and collect seashells on the beach. Michelle has an Associates degree and has completed her certification in a Baking and Pastry Arts program. While Michelle is fond of her job at a local doctor’s office working as a receptionist and interacting with the various patients we are hoping that she will be able to be a stay at home mom to provide our child with a nurturing, caring environment in which to grow and develop.

I could never have dreamed of or hoped for a better husband than Randy. He is a loving, caring, thoughtful and compassionate person. He is my best friend and I truly enjoy his companionship. I know he will make a wonderful father. He is gentle and funny and will be a “hands-on” kind of dad. He has a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy that he uses in his job at a Mental Health Center. He enjoys working with a variety of clients, helping them to work through their problems. Randy is an avid fan of science fiction and is an aspiring author, having just completed a science fiction novel. He also enjoys reading, gardening, and collecting coins, toys and interesting things.

When we bought our home about four years ago we were looking for a house that we could raise a family in. We found the perfect home in a friendly neighborhood in a quaint village. Our home is a charming cape cod with three bedrooms and a large fenced in yard. We are only a block away from the small local elementary school and village library, with parks and playgrounds close by. There are plenty of families in the neighborhood with young children and during the warmer months not a day goes by when the sound of children playing isn’t heard.

Thank you for taking the time to read our profile and consider us for the honor of raising your child. We are excited to be able to start our family through adoption and hope that we have been able to provide you with a look at our lives and the kind of home that we will provide for a child. We will do our best as parents to love, nurture and care for any child that is placed with us and support the child’s interests and abilities.

May God bless you and be with you.

Sincerely yours,

Michelle & Randy
