Community and Self-Sufficiency
The goal of all Bethany programs is to integrate refugees as self-sufficient community members as soon as possible.
This process is unique for each refugee. Bethany tries to recognize that and support each refugee along the way. For adult refugees, they usually become self-sufficient after finding a job and after finishing the sponsorship relationship with a church.
For unaccompanied minors, Bethany provides support until the refugee becomes an adult.
Even after refugees separate from the Bethany programs that helped them with initially resettling, Bethany still can help. Usually this help comes in the form of the refugee contacting the Outreach and Assistance (ROAR) offce at Bethany. This office provides support for specific problems refugees may be facing, even after having been in the United States for some time.
This concludes the journey. | |
