Fees associated with International adoption can range from 14,000 to $35,000, depending on the country from which the child is being adopted. Total estimated fees for an adoption from China are estimated to be around $20,000. The estimated fees associated with an adoption from Guatemala total approximately $30,000. Families adopting from Hong Kong should expect total adoption related fees to be around $14,000. These fees are staggered over the course of the adoption and include the following:
Bethany Christian Services of Middle Tennessee's fee is $6,600*. This includes application fee, a home assessment, assistance with dossier preparation, immigration assistance, coordination with country child is from, child placement, and post placement services. (Families who are working with other agencies for placement services are charged a fee of $2,600 for a home assessment and $150 per post placement visit.)

Travel fees
This will also vary according to country and time of year. Most programs require that families travel once to the country during the adoption process. Some programs require that families travel twice to their country during the adoption process and other programs will allow for the child to be escorted home. The duration of stay required in the country will also affect the travel fees. Some programs require families to stay in the country for three to seven days while other programs require families to stay for six to eight weeks.
Miscellaneous fees
Miscellaneous fees include filing, fingerprinting, passport, and visa fees. Also falling under this category is cost of medical exams, immunizations, certified copies and authentications and apostilles, courier fees, etc.
