South Korea
In South Korea, Bethany Christian Services has been ministering to the needs of children without permanent families in two very important ways -- through international adoption and international sponsorship. Both programs have been highly successful due to Bethany's ability to work cooperatively with private, in-country agencies and government officials. Bethany is committed to finding loving homes for children waiting for adoption and to improving the lives of children who have been born with physical or mental limitations.
IL-San Sponsorship Program
Bethany's sponsorship program has been serving children in South Korea since 1984, in keeping with our desire to offer support to children in their own country. Together we support individual children and adults living in Il-San at the Bethany-Holt home for the mentally and physically challenged. Holt operates the residential facility, while agencies like Bethany support the residents.
A donation of just $25 per month covers the basic needs of individuals and allows the residents to learn a useful skill, when possible. Over the years, hundreds of men, women, and children have had the opportunity to live a better life through Bethany's Il-San sponsorship program. The generous donations of sponsors throughout the United States make possible a facility that is staffed with professionals who provide loving care to the residents, often for an entire lifetime.
Special Projects
Over the years, Bethany has also contributed to special medical and building projects designed to improve the quality of life for children in South Korea.
