In St. Petersburg, families will stay in an apartment (flat) or hotel arranged by our staff. The cost is $60-$90 per family/night. Food is additional. The services of Bethany Russian staff are included in the foreign country fee.There will be additional expenses in St. Petersburg of about $150 for documents and translation. There will also be transportation costs of $10-$12/hour for both official business and sightseeing.

On the second trip to Moscow, families will be met and assisted with hotel reservations, transportation, embassy appointments and documents. The fee for this assistance is $300. Hotels in Moscow range from $90 per night for Russian style accommodations to more than $175/night for the Marriott.

The current system for families requires two trips. The first trip is to officially identify and accept a child and to request that the child be released from the federal database. The second trip takes place after the release letter has been sent to St. Petersburg and the court date has been set. Time between trips is usually 4-6 weeks. Before returning home on the second trip, families will spend one or two days in Moscow to get their child's visa. When the family comes home they will be required to register the child with the Russian Consulate within 90 days.

Food and the services of the facilitator are included. There will be additional expenses on the second trip related to the adoption.

Families travel by air to Moscow. They will then travel by air to Krasnoyarsk or Khanty Mansiysk. Families travel by train or car to all other regions. Accommodations in Krasnoyarsk or Khanty Mansiysk are in hotels, ranging from $70-$100 a night. Families stay in apartments or with host families in all other regions for approximately $100 a night.
