Changing Faces of Intercountry Adoption:
A Three-Part Series that highlights today’s adoption and the trend of adopting older children, who may have special, identified needs
Session 1: January 28, 2010 – 6:30 p.m.
Children Who Are Waiting
Learn about intercountry adoption from a panel of families who have adopted children from several countries. They will share their reasons for adopting older children or sibling groups and will discuss the process, the challenges, the adjustments, and the blessings.
Session 2: February 8, 2010 – 6:30 p.m.
Adopting From Africa
Learn about Bethany’s adoption programs in Africa. Meet a couple who has adopted a child from Ethiopia. Learn how Bethany works in countries to support not only adoption but children who are waiting for a family.
Session 3: March 4, 2010 – 6:30 p.m.
The New Face of European Adoption
Bethany has several intercountry adoption programs in Eastern Europe. Learn how Bethany’s 10 years of experience has allowed us to create specialized training for adoptive parents and counseling to help with attachment issues after adoption.
All sessions will be held in the meeting rooms of the E Lansing Public Library at 950 Abbot Rd in E Lansing. There will be an opportunity to meet informally with presenters during the last half hour.
