Adam and Christy - Holland, Michigan
Dear Expectant Parent(s),
Thank you for taking time to get to know us. We are praying for you even though we do not know you. We pray that the Lord will give you a sense of peace and strength as you go through this pregnancy.
 We are a family of three: Adam (31), Christy (31) and Jude (1 ½). (Actually, we’re a family of four if you count our huge, shaggy dog, Duncan!) Adam and Christy have been married nine years. We fell in love in college and we married shortly after graduation. We also were privileged to both complete Master’s degrees. Adam & Christy are both pastors. We started a multicultural, inner city church a few years ago. It has been an incredible experience, and we love working together.
We have one precious son named Jude. We were blessed to adopt him through Bethany about a year and a half ago. Jude is bi-racial (Dutch and Mexican). We have an open relationship with Jude’s birthmother. We love having her in our lives and feel so blessed that she is open to that! We exchange monthly letters and photos with her, and we have had occasional visits in person. We feel it is important for Jude to be able to have contact with his birthmother as he grows older, and we’re thankful for this opportunity.
A Little About Adam
Adam is 6’1” and has brown hair and blue eyes. He likes to run, bike, landscape, watch movies, and listen to ‘90’s music. But he especially loves backpacking! He thinks it is great fun to pack everything in a backpack, set up his 2 lb. tent, eat beef jerky, and go without a shower for a week in the woods.
 Adam is laid-back and calm, yet he is not afraid to stand up for what is right. He is a big advocate for diversity. Adam is good at approaching difficult situations with tact, and he has a way of being a peacemaker.
Adam has two younger sisters. His parents live about 35 minutes from us and we see them often. His huge extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins live about an hour and a half away from us.
A Little About Christy
Christy is 5’6” and has dark brown hair and brown eyes. She likes to cook, read, scrapbook and play the piano. She also enjoys hosting cookouts and having people over.
Christy is poised and has a sense of excellence. She is kind and compassionate. She is a great writer, in my humble opinion, and occasionally writes magazine articles on the side. She also loves the limelight and shines in front of a group.
Christy has three younger sisters and one younger brother. Her parents live about 45 minutes from us, and we also see them often. Family Christmases are a fun time as they involve a ton of people! We all exchange $5 gifts with each other. It takes some creativity, but it is fun.
 Our Life
We are a family who has interesting adventures and is committed to doing good works in our community. We are a family who takes vacations. We are a family who likes to take walks along the river and go to Mexican restaurants.
Our son Jude is in a community that is highly supportive of adoption. We love that in our church we have both birthparents and people who have been adopted. We love that adoption is a normal part of the way we all do life together.
We are so excited about the possibility of expanding our family through adoption! We are unable to have biological children ourselves, and adoption is the way we have sought to build a family. We would feel greatly privileged to add to our family again through adoption. Know that we will respect your wishes for your adoption plan. We pray that the Lord brings you peace and clarity in this season of your life.
