There are a number of excellent adoption resources available today, but we’ve found these particular ones to be VERY helpful as you embark on your adoption experience. These resources may be available through your local library or bookstore, or through the following online: Tapestry Books, Amazon, or Barnes and Noble.

For Domestic Adoption:

For International Adoption:

  • Our Own: Adopting and Parenting the Older Child by Trish Maskew (Adoptive families share their joys and challenges, research, and professionals comment. Filled with compassion, humor, and common sense.)
  • Toddler Adoption: The Weaver’s Craft by Mary Hopkins Best (For children past the age of infancy; forming attachments and behavior management)
  • With Eyes Wide Open: A Workbook for Parents Adopting International Children Over The Age of One by Margi Miller (Helps prepare families for issues and experiences from the child’s viewpoint.)
