Employment or School
All adults resettled by PARA are connected with a Job Coach within a months of arriving in West Michigan. A job coach builds on the ESL learning the refugees is already taking, especially focusing on English skills that will help a refugee to get a job. In addition, the job coach and the refugee go out in the community together to work on finding a job. This involves riding the bus, filling out applications, and attending interviews together. Attempts are made to integrate the refugee into a school setting that matches the level of the youth in the unaccompanied minor program.
