Dear Birthmother,
 As we are writing this letter, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Your decision to
choose life for your precious little one is a true blessing. We are so grateful that you are taking
a moment during this difficult time in your life to learn who we are. We are praying for you and believe through God’s guidance you will overcome this trying time and may find peace with your decision.
Our story began fifteen years ago when we met at a gathering through mutual friends. We were instantly attracted to each other, with both of us having a great sense of humor, it made our meeting a lot easier. Our friendship grew rapidly; we were friends for many years and knew God had a special plan for us to be together.
Our life together is special. We love Christ and together we continue to strengthen our faith through prayer and God’s guidance. After struggling with IVF, we came to accept that God had a different plan for us to have a family. We learned a great deal about adoption and knew this was the direction to take. We are a happy fun-loving couple. We have four pets, three cats and a dog. Together we love to travel, watch movies, go to flea markets, the city, have garage sales, or simply take a long walk with our dog.
 Alain is a loving, patient, loyal and supportive husband. He is a great friend. He is passionate about life, family, and God. Alain is talented and creative, passionate about music and animals, as it is evident through his work as a successful DJ and pet groomer. Alain loves to cook; he is handy around the house and garden as well. Alain will make a great father; he is smart, funny, loves unconditionally, as he will bring great joy to our child someday.
Melissa is an inspiration; she is very loving, supporting wife. She is passionate about life, lives it to the fullest, has a beautiful heart and great compassion for people and animals. Melissa has a great love for God and family. (She is very creative and has a flair for design. She is always moving around the furniture, adding something new to the décor, painting a wall, or sketching ideas for work.) She is a design director for a lighting company and creates lighting product for mass-market stores. I believe Melissa will be a terrific, nurturing mother. She loves spending time with her nephew and loves children in general. For many years, she was a nanny to several families while in college. It will be a great blessing one day to raise a child together.
 Family is very important to us. We have a very close relationship with both our families. We are fortunate that our families live nearby. Every Friday we have dinner with Alain’s family. Melissa’s family lives half an hour away. We are very close and spend a lot of time with her mom and dad. We often travel with Melissa’s parents to visit her sister and family in Holland. We spend a lot family time at her parent’s vacation home in Florida. Summer barbeques are a lot of fun when shared with our family and friends. Our family is supportive and understanding. They are happy with our decision to adopt and cannot wait to welcome our baby home.
Our home is cozy. We have a lovely house with a backyard and a beautiful garden. We live in an urban community five minutes outside of New York City. We have very nice neighbors and an excellent school system. Our neighborhood has many parks and a new community pool that will open this summer. We are fortunate to have our Church located one block away from where we live. It is a small congregation with a powerful ministry. We look forward to becoming more involved as we have our own family one day.
