Adoption Preparation

  • Can include birthfather and other family members
  • Birthparents can choose a family from profiles which include pictures and written information
  • Birthparents can meet the adoptive family if they so desire
  • Birthparents can name the baby and request that the adoptive family use one of the birth names
  • Counselors can assist in preparing a thought out, written hospital plan
  • Clear explanations of and assistance with required paperwork.
  • Interim foster care to allow adequate time to consider the adoption decision
  • Visitation with the child during the revocation period
  • Possible direct placement of the child with his/her family at the time of the child’s discharge from the hospital
  • Possible on going relationship with the adoptive family
  • Letters and pictures of the child three times in the first six months; at least annually thereafter
  • Placement of child with two parent, Christian families who have been carefully screened
  • Explanation of the legal process
  • Counseling with regard to grief and loss issues
  • Ongoing support groups and counseling as needed
