If you are facing an unexpected pregnancy, you may feel overwhelmed, frightened, or confused about what to do next. You have options to consider and whatever you decide, it will affect your life and that of your baby forever. Our professional staff will help you face your pregnancy and support you through it. At Bethany you will be treated with respect. Your confidentiality will be protected, and you will not be pressured into a decision. We understand that you are facing one of the most important and difficult decisions of your life. We can help you find your own answers.

Working in partnership with Bethany assures you the best future for you and your baby. Bethany can help by providing:
  • a caring counselor to help you consider all your options and make informed decisions
  • counseling services free of charge
  • support in talking to your family and the birthfather
  • information about community resources to help you if you decide to parent
  • assistance in designing your own adoption plan if you choose adoption
  • follow-up counseling after the baby is born, if desired

If you are not ready to parent, you can still give your baby the gift of life by choosing adoption. At Bethany, you are in control of choosing the adoption plan you think will be best for you and your baby. You can plan your baby's future by selecting a stable, loving family to parent your baby. Many times you can have the opportunity to meet this family. You can see a list of family profiles online as well as look at more family profiles during the counseling process. At birth you can see your baby, name your baby, love your baby, etc. If you choose, you can get pictures and updates on your child's progress while you continue your education and career goals. Finally, you can avoid the trauma and heartbreak of abortion. You can be proud of your decision for adoption.

We encourage the birthfather as well as other family members to be involved in the planning process. No matter which type of adoption you choose, Bethany will handle the legal matters involved in the adoption. Since 1944, women have trusted Bethany to help them face their unplanned pregnancies and make decisions they can live with. At Bethany you can expect straight talk about life-affirming choices from a professional counselor who understands and cares about you.

Post-Delivery Counseling and Support
Counseling and support following the birth of a baby is provided to birthfamilies for as long as needed. The intensity and frequency of counseling may vary with each family, as some families show a need for more intensive follow-up in the first weeks following delivery, while others may show a need for less intense follow-up. Others may come to Bethany at a later point in their lives for the support they may need.
