Bethany Christian Services of NW-IA has been delivering abstinence services successfully since 1987 with the use of private funds. In 1998, we received abstinence funding through the Section 510 Iowa Abstinence Education Initiative, and in 2002, under the Iowa Abstinence Education Initiative for Special Projects of Regional and National Significance (SPRANS).
Currently, the program receives only the Section 510 grant so must continue to raise private funds in order to offer adequate services in 17 counties of Northwest Iowa. Today we serve over 40 schools and approximately 2500 students a year!
Teen Legacy is the name given to Bethany’s abstinence education program. Bethany Christian Services in Sioux Falls recently added their very own Teen Legacy abstinence education program in the spring of 2005, and has already seen great success! This program is funded primarily through the South Dakota Section 510 Abstinence Education Initiative.
