Champions for Children

DID YOU KNOW that...

  • There are 143 million orphans in the world?
  • In the United States, there are more than half a million children in foster care, with more than 100,000 of them waiting to be adopted?
  • One couple in five will experience infertility, pregnancy loss, or infant death?
  • In the U.S. alone, there are more than 1 million induced abortions performed each year?
These facts are daunting, but God has shown us how we should respond. Scripture is filled with examples of a Christian’s response to a hurting world.

Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me.
Mark 9:37 NIV

What is the Champions for Children program?
The purpose of Bethany’s Champions for Children program is to help meet the needs of vulnerable children and families in our community, our nation, and our world. By becoming a Champion for Children, you will be a volunteer who commits to sharing information with your church about the needs of children. You can help ensure that one thing that forgotten children will never be without is HOPE.

There are three levels of commitment from which you may choose to partner with Bethany Christian Services as a Champion for Children. Whether you become a Champion by praying, giving, or beginning a ministry in your church, each level of commitment is important and unique.

Level 1 is for people committing to pray and share information.

Level 2 is for people committing to pray and give (time, talent, or treasure).

Level 3 is for people committing to join or start an Orphan and Adoption Ministry in their church.

For more information about becoming a Champion for Children, contact your local Bethany Christian Services office or e-mail champions@bethany.org.
