What is older child adoption?

Older child adoption is the adoption of a child who is currently in the custody of the state. These children are in the foster care system. The average age of a child waiting to be adopted in the state of Georgia is 10 years old. More than 400,000 children in the United States are living in foster care and over 100,000 of them cannot return to their birthfamilies due to past abuse or neglect. These precious children are yearning for a lifelong family who will surround them with love and care.

What does older child adoption cost?

If an older child is in the foster care system, adoptions are usually state-funded. Medical and financial subsidies are available until the child turns 18.
