Bethany Christian Services is the charity for the Spare the Change campaign sponsored by WZZM 13 and Choice One Banks in West Michigan. We are raising money and awareness for the adoption of older children in foster care.  WZZM 13, the West Michigan ABC affiliate, is featuring Bethany on it's news broadcasts and it's local talk show,Take 5.  The host of Take 5 is Catherine Behrendt, who is an adoptive mom and currently serves on Bethany's National Board.

Orphan Sunday, November 8, 2009, is a movement driving Christians to dedicate a Sunday to stand for the orphan.

Bethany Christian Services is recognizing Orphan Sunday with events around the country that are all a part of this movement.

Belinda Geertsma, an intercountry adoption caseworker for Bethany Christian Services in Holland, Michigan, has been dubbed an “Angel in Adoption" and will be honored with her name in the Congressional Record. At the invitation of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute, she was nominated for the honor by U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra, R-Holland. "Belinda is passionate about finding homes for children with special needs," he said. "She has worked miracles around the world in matching children with adoptive families." Belinda was also honored by Bethany Christian Services' President, Bill Blacquiere, for her work in facilitating the most intercountry special needs adoptions for all of Bethany in 2008. Bethany Christians Services congratulates Belinda and thanks her for her hard work and dedication to Bethany's mission.

The Bethany Christian Services office in Jackson, Mississippi celebrated their 25th anniversary last night.
 
Office staff, Bethany families, and other friends of Bethany were able to come together to celebrate the office's growth and service in the area, and how it has helped children and families throughout Mississippi.
