The China Team covets your prayers today as we begin matching families to our Waiting Children.  Two weeks ago, we shared information on approximately fifty children with special placement needs.  We have been blessed with many interested families for a few of the children while the majority of their files sit with no interest.  Please pray for these waiting children… that their wait may be over!

We will begin to prayerfully review and match families to referrals this afternoon, after 12:00pm EST.  By the end of today, all families who requested a match will be notified of their match/non-match via their local social worker.  The remaining unmatched referrals will be re-released in the near future.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

There are approximately 143 million orphans in the world today.
Many children are older, or a sibling group. Some children have medical, physical or developmental challenges.
We aren't asking you to help 143 million orphans, but you can make a difference by being a Bethany Prayer Warrior.
Prayer Warriors will receive pictures and information of children waiting through Bethany.
We ask that you pray for the children.
Pray for families who are willing to accept the children with special placement needs into their hearts and homes.
Pray for those who will never be adopted. May someone come into their life and love and care for them.
Each of us is part of the Body of Christ. It is He in us that is more than able to make a difference.

If you want to be added to the Prayer Warrior group and receive emails about waiting children, please send an email to: jvandyke@bethany.org

While CCAA did issue referrals this month, BCS did not receive any.  This occurs occasionally when there is a span of calendar dates between the previous LID matching dates and when our next LID falls on the calendar.  CCAA has not updated their portal to reflect what LID was advanced through for referrals this month.  When it is updated, we will update this Blog Post to reflect the accurate date.  We do know the cut-off occurred with LID’s prior to March 9, 2006, as this is our next batch of families expecting referrals.  ***UPDATE: The CCAA portal announced that referrals for March 09 were referred through LID March 6, 2006.

CCAA continues to make progress each month.  The current wait time from LID to referral is exactly 36 months or three years.  Many families entered this adoption program three years ago when the current wait time was approximately 9-12 months for a referral.  Please reference the post on December 29, 2008 for more information on the increasing wait times.

Bethany’s next LID’s are:

March: March 9, 206, March 14, 2006, March 24, 2006, March 28, 2006.
April LID’s: April 4, 2006, April 19, 2006, April 27, 2006

Many families ask: “How many families are in each of these LID’s?”
This particular number does not help to predict when referrals will arrive for your particular LID.  We are one of over 100 accredited agencies in the world with dossiers submitted at the CCAA.  There are LID’s for almost every day of the calendar year, sometimes even on weekends.  There are no released numbers of how many dossiers worldwide were registered on any particular day.  We do know that some if not most LID batches have shrunk over time due to: families accepting SN referrals, families going on hold, or families withdrawing from the China adoption program.  These influences have affected all agencies around the world due to the growing time frames for a referral.

We realize that the wait time may be difficult for some families.  Please know that we pray for your strength, commitment, faith and patience during this process.  We also continue to pray for the many children already born in this world that patiently and innocently await their forever families.
