In the late half of July, BCS received seven referrals from South Korea!  The wait time currently is about 12 months after a family's homestudy  approval date.  Six families were able to welcome home their children in July as well, and one BCS family will be welcoming home their child this first week of August.

For families who are waiting for their children to travel, about a week after you receive your USCIS I600 approval we ask that you contact the
NVC (National Visa Center) to verify your petition has been forwarded to Seoul.  It seems that some petitions have not been arriving at the Embassy in the time frame we've expected.

In August, two families in the South Korean program have received referrals, and two more families were matched with waiting children. Families are currently waiting about twelve months after their homestudy approval date to be matched with their child.  Four families have received their children with one more family traveling to Seoul before the end of the month.  Travel to South Korea is highly encouraged and recommended.  Families must stay at least 3 business days in Seoul, and many families stay longer.  No greater trip exists than to travel to your child's homeland as you start your life together !!!
