This is from a previous post, but
still a hot inquiry! Families who are matched with a child are able
to send small gifts via Holt for their child and the child's foster family.
Adoptive families will send these gifts directly to
| |
|
Holt, with no identifying information
on the outside of the package, except for our social worker's name. On
the inside of the package, families would include the child's case number
and Korean name. Families most often send clothes, family photo album and
variety of small gifts for foster family members. Some things to keep in
mind: do not send anything that is extremely valuable or costly -
there is no guarantee that it will arrive safely. Also, only send
small items (i.e. one outfit, small book or photo album, or one small toy).
It is costly to send and space is limited in many foster homes. Do
not send disposable cameras, as they may go through scanning equipment
which could ruin the film - additionally pictures are a required to be
taken by foster families as part of the adoption process. We're happy
and blessed with a wonderful worker at Holt who is happy to help families
with this connection to their children as they wait. Please let your
social worker know if you have any questions or concerns, or to obtain
the mailing address. | |
