What does it cost to adopt a child from another country?

Many people think that it is very expensive to adopt children. With Bethany’s help, adoption may be more affordable than you think. We have helped thousands of people achieve their goal of adopting internationally. Thanks to our generous donors, we have been able to cover an average of 40 percent of the cost of an adoption. Fees vary by location. Through Caring Connection, Bethany can also offer you grants for adopting children with special needs.

Adoption tax credit:

The Federal Adoption Tax Credit of up to $13,170 is available to your family depending on your income. In addition to the federal tax credit, your state may have a tax credit or deduction as well. Ask your tax advisor about how these credits may apply to your family.

Other grants and subsidies:

If you are active duty personnel in the military, you can qualify for grants and subsidies toward adoption.

Southern Baptist pastors can also qualify for a grant through The Adoption Fund for Ministers.
