Bethany of Middle Tennessee is one of four locations that make up Bethany Christian Services of Tennessee. Bethany has served Middle Tennessee since the early 80’s providing free, confidential counseling to individuals facing an unplanned pregnancy, and adoption services for families. Tennessee has licensed Bethany as a child-placing agency.


Bethany opened a branch office in Tennessee at the invitation of a Crisis Pregnancy Center that had served the area in the late 1970’s. That CPC, known as "Choose Life," desired to provide a wider range of services that included offering adoption as an alternative to women who would choose life for their babies but for whom parenting was not a possibility. Bethany’s National Office in Grand Rapids, MI opened its first branch office in Chattanooga in May 1982 incorporated as "Bethany Christian Services of Tennessee." The Nashville office opened as a satellite location in 1989.
