Older Child Adoption Orientation

Join us on the first Tuesday of the month from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. for an introduction to Bethany Christian Services and explanation of SWAN
"Statewide Adoption Network". The Adoption Process will be discussed as well as the qualifications necessary to proceed. There will be opportunity
for questions and answers.

Older Child Adoption Training Schedule

Older Child Adoption Training - 7 Weeks. Monday, July 9 through August 20, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. This training covers all aspects of SWAN-Older Child Adoption, by providing education and support through the adoption journey.

Sibling Training: Prepare Your Children for the Adoption Process. Children, ages 5-12. Your child may attend their training while you participate in your classes. This is also available to families who have completed the training and would like their child to participate.

Discover International Adoption

7:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Workers will share about the need for families to adopt from China, Ethiopia and children with special needs. An adoptive parent panel will share their adoption experiences. Attendees will be eliglible to take advantage of a $500 fee reduction. RSVP to 717.399.3213

International Education class

Bethany Christian Services of Central Pennsylvania will hold a training on issues relating to international adoption. Topics include grief and loss, the attachment cycle, facilitating attachment, orphanage/foster care experience, medical issues, transcultural adoption, issues of multiracial families, parenting the adopted child, talking to your child about adoption, core issues of adoption, and the life-long impact of adoption. A panel of adoptive parents will also share their experiences.

This training, which is Hague compliant, is open to any family considering adoption, in the process of adopting, or parenting an adopted child(ren). The training will be held at Lititz United Methodist Church, 201 East Market Street, Lititz, PA 17543. Lunch will be on your own. The cost for this training is $50 for a single individual or $75 for a couple. There is no fee for families adopting through Bethany Christian Services.
