FOR CENTRAL PA FOSTER CARE/KINSHIP FAMILIES AND STAFF. These trainings are not open to the public. This is a Crisis Prevention Intervention training using the Safe and Positive Approaches™ curriculum. Safe and Positive Approaches is a training program that aims in the preventing and diffusing of crisis situations. This program focuses on intervention strategies including physical maneuvers, holds, and manual restraints. We will be going through the Safety Techniques and Personal Emergency Interventions. Part 1 focuses on de-escalation techniques to prevent crises. Part 2 will be practicing techniques on your partner. IMPORTANT: You must complete Part 1 and Part 2 to receive full credit. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

Show Hope’s Hope for the Journey conference is designed to equip and encourage parents and caregivers meeting the needs of children impacted by adoption and/or foster care. Bringing together teaching, resources, and practical experiences, parents and caregivers (and the churches and organizations seeking to serve these children and families) will gain a deeper understanding of these children’s needs.
