God is blessing Bethany’s ministry. Looking back at 2012, the verse that comes to me is this one: “Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things” (Psalm 98:1 NIV). Last year, with God’s help and thanks to your partnership, we exceeded our goal of impacting the lives of 75,000 children per year by 2015!
Other significant progress in 2012: We now serve expectant parents in 35 states and more than 100 offices across the nation through our Life Impact Fund. We expanded our refugee services into 13 Bethany offices to help trafficked children. And our international ministry has expanded into Uganda and Brazil.
In 2012, Bethany renewed two important professional accreditations. One reviewer said to us: “Bethany, you are a very unique agency, from your clients to staff to board members. You know your mission and are committed to the mission, and we saw evidence of that . . . You really walk the walk.” I am grateful to our staff and everyone involved in Bethany’s ministry for your work to protect and enhance children’s lives. Truly, God is doing great things.
Harvey Koning - Board Chair
Bethany cared for more children and families than ever in 2012. We helped 606 older children find families, and we walked with 3,217 expectant parents facing an unplanned pregnancy—both record numbers. Internationally, we are growing our ministry through child and family sponsorship, with 1,000 new sponsorships last year. Bethany is bringing our expertise in adoption, foster care, and family preservation to countries like Ethiopia where we’re working with over 73 churches to recruit families for foster care leading to adoption. One minister said that at first “we did not understand adoption or foster care—we didn’t have a word for it.” Now, churches are enthusiastically engaged in serving orphaned children in this way.
We greatly value your prayers, your involvement in our mission, and your financial support. Every gift you give touches the life of a child in need. Thank you.
