Bill Blacquiere - President
"One of my personal highlights in 2011 was partnering with birthparents Catelynn and Tyler, featured on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant, to raise awareness for adoption."
With 1.2 million abortions yearly in the U.S., Bethany is called to act to save innocent lives. This year we have served more expectant parents than ever before. I also enjoyed the privilege of taking a delegation from China to meet families who have adopted children with special needs out of Chinese orphanages. It made a tremendous impact on the group members to see the children so loved and cared for. Worldwide, we have established new and innovative programs in Ethiopia and Haiti, and building upon those, we have opened new offices in Ghana and Uganda. Thanks to our supporters, partners, and dedicated staff, last year Bethany served 66,284 children—more than ever before!
Sally Swets - Board Chair
"Bethany is more than an adoption agency. We serve abandoned, abused, and neglected children in 21 countries."
Having spent nine years on Bethany’s board, I was impressed by the great spirit of unity among our board and staff as together we served children in 2011. I am pleased to report that we provided post-adoption services to more than 3,000 people. We established a pro-life presence in abortion clinics in New York City. We worked tirelessly on behalf of children with special needs. And although Bethany continues to be one of the largest adoption agencies in the U.S., we also care for children through programs like refugee services and a residential home. Your support protects and restores children’s lives—thank you.
