What is international adoption?
Adopting a child from another country is known as international or intercountry adoption. This is the adoption of children from outside the United States. Since 1982, we have united thousands of international children with loving forever families, a testament to our expertise, integrity, and high quality of service. Our staff understands the unique requirements of each international adoption program we offer. We are fully accredited through the Hague Convention, which provides guidelines for international adoption to protect the best interests of adopted children.
Every child in our world is precious in God’s sight. At Bethany, we are called to address the global orphan crisis. More than 150 million children have lost one or both parents to AIDS, disease, abandonment, poverty, war, or other causes. Many children are growing up without the love of a permanent family. We invite you to discover the blessings of international adoption – make the journey of a lifetime to bring a lifetime of love to a child in need.
The Hague Convention on International Adoption provides guidelines for international adoption to protect those children being adopted across country borders. We are fully accredited through the Council on Accreditation (COA) and, as such, have no restrictions on our ability to provide adoption services in countries that are part of the Hague convention.
There are many kinds of adoption.
Many of the children who are waiting to be adopted have special needs. Could your family be right for special needs adoption? Consider giving a child who is older, has certain impairments, or medical needs a loving family.
