William J. Blacquiere

President & CEO

It all starts with knowing children are close to the heart of God.

Bill is passionate about Bethany’s purpose in protecting children and counts it a privilege to be able to share God’s love with them. Bill has served Bethany for more than 25 years as chief operating officer, director of operations for Michigan, and CEO since 2006. Bill serves on the boards of the National Council for Adoption and the Christian Alliance for Orphans. His vision for Bethany is that 100,000 children will be protected annually.

Pete Knibbe

Vice President of Donor Engagement

Since 2008 Pete has led the strategic development and implementation for all fundraising initiatives. With the desire to model and inspire astonishing giving, he leads the Donor Engagement team with the belief that, because of God's generosity toward us, we have the privilege of being generous with others.

A social worker for 25 years, Pete was drawn to Bethany because of his commitment and passion to advocate for children in need of a loving family. Pete and his team are highly motivated by Bethany’s vision that every child should have a loving family.

Brian DeVos

Vice President of Child & Family Services

Brian believes that his desire to serve children is a natural response to his gratitude for the unconditional love of Christ has given him. Having served in a leadership role at Bethany for 18 years, Brian has led 30 social service programs assisting children and families, including a major expansion of Foster Care and Foster Care Adoption programs. Brian has seen lives transformed, hope restored, and grace in action—and thousands of orphans adopted into homes where they are treasured, loved, and safe. Brian also serves on the board of the Michigan Federation for Children and Families.

Jeff Nitz

Vice President of Adoption & Family Services

With a deep passion for helping children, Jeff has dedicated 27 years of leadership to foster care, residential treatment, family strengthening, adoption, and post-adoption services. He has served as branch director and director of operations for the Northeast region. Under his leadership, services within the region were expanded to ensure more children are able to have safe and permanent families.

As a college student, Jeff began working with children in foster care. These kids won his heart and mapped out his lifelong mission—to make a difference for children, strengthen families, and minister to community in the name of Christ. Jeff states about his work, “Nothing is more rewarding than when children find the love and security they deserve.”

Marjorie Dood

Executive Vice President of Administration and Chief Financial Officer

Marjie uses her skill set to advance Bethany’s mission, leading administration, finance, technology, and supporting Bethany’s various boards. Marjie joined the leadership team in 2009 and continues to grow Bethany’s foundation, making strides to establish and ensure the longevity of the organization. Knowing her legacy is ministering to future children and loving God’s Word and will, she is energized by seeing firsthand the eternal fruits of Bethany’s impact: lives forever changed.

Marc Andreas

Vice President of Organizational Excellence

Marc’s eyes were opened to the needs of children around the world after adopting a son through Bethany and during his time serving on Bethany’s board in Iowa. After 10 years in corporate America, Marc felt led to come to Bethany in 2005 with a vision of helping orphans and vulnerable children. He is dedicated to Bethany’s mission, is a member of the Leadership Alliance of Pregnancy Care organization, and serves on the boards of Safe Families for Children™ and Orphan Ministry Alliance, West Michigan.
