Our Work in Haiti

Bethany Global has been actively involved in providing aid to Haitian families from the devastating effects of the earthquake. We are committed to working with the Haitian government and NGOs that are providing care for the thousands of struggling families and orphans.

Intake to the Bethany Haiti Adoption program is currently open to a limited number of applications.

Meet the Children

In Haiti, orphanages that are accredited to facilitate international adoptions are called crèches. The children awaiting adoption reside in crèches and range in age from 18 months to 15 years. Some children have no identified special placement needs and others have moderate special placement needs. Haitian boys, girls, and siblings are eligible for adoption.

Child Protection and Welfare in Haiti

Bethany is committed to quality social services in Haiti that focus on Family Preservation and Alternative Family-Based Care. We are proud to work side-by-side with several partners and the government on behalf of orphans and vulnerable children in Haiti.

Foster Care in Haiti

In partnership with the Haitian government, we are launching our foster care program in 2015. We will be working with the local church in Haiti to recruit families and are hoping to serve 60 kids in foster care by middle of 2016.

Keeping Families Together

In spring 2014, Bethany launched a small project in Haiti, working with vulnerable families living in the tent cities around Port-Au-Prince. This project, named Operation Exodus, serves to strengthen families through economic and psychosocial support. Relocation to safe housing is a priority, but so is financial sustainability, skills training, and the health and well-being of the children in the families.

Adoption from Haiti

Bethany is devoted to caring for vulnerable children who have no family to care for them and little hope for a better future. Our international adoption program in Haiti is one example of our commitment to finding a loving family for every child.

Bethany is currently accredited to facilitate international adoptions by the Institut du Bien-Être Social et de Recherches (IBESR), or Central Authority in Haiti.
